Alexandra Martin

Alexandra Martin is the former Head of the GLOBSEC Brussels Office, a position she assumed on January 2020 and held until the end of March 2021. She is establishing the organization’s first office abroad, in an effort to close the gap between Brussels and the CEE region. Together with her team, she covers issues related to the European Union, security and defence, technology and sustainability. She joined GLOBSEC in May 2018 as Strategic Forums Director, overseeing all GLOBSEC efforts related to the major convenings: GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, Tatra Summit and Chateau Bela.

Prior to that, she worked as a Political and Reporting Officer/Acting Political Adviser for the OSCE Mission to Skopje, where she coordinated the analysis of the name negotiations between Skopje and Athens. Her work kept all OSCE participating states timely updated on the status of the negotiations.

Between 2015 and 2017 she worked as a Policy Consultant for the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Washington DC, where she provided expert advice on topics such as transatlantic relations, security policy, Russia and the West, and the geopolitical implications of conflicts in Eastern Europe.

From 2012 to 2014 she served in the European Union Monitoring Mission to Georgia as Operations Officer, coordinating the monitoring of the ceasefire agreement in Western Georgia, and ensuring the conflict parties do not re-escalate into violence.

She has a Masters in Conflict Management and Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS, where she concentrated in conflict negotiations and post-conflict reconstruction.
