Image of Russia in CEE: Key Highlights

This year, Image of Russia: Mighty Slavic Brother or Hungry Bear Nextdoor? takes a unique look at the perception of Russia in the CEE region and across Western Balkans. The report builds on the GLOBSEC Trends 2020 polling data from nine CEE countries Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. Despite more than 30 years after the fall of communism and transition of democracy, the myths surrounding Russia continue to resonate as Russia remains to be present in the region, at least, in minds of some people.
