The Ministry of Interior is strengthening its capacity to fight against hybrid threats based on GLOBSEC’s recommendations

Daniel Milo, a Senior Adviser at GLOBSEC will be joining the Slovak Ministry of Interior to focus on the issue of hybrid threats.

The Centre for Democracy & Resilience will be led by Daniel’s peer and long-term GLOBSEC Senior Research Fellow, Dominika Hajdu. The Centre consists of four research fellows actively pursuing the topics of conspiratorial theories, hybrid threats and regulation of online space not only in Slovakia but also in broader Europe and the USA.

“Over the past years, the topic of hybrid threats has become one of the most crucial topics of the political and public debates, for the media and also governments. I am glad I had the opportunity to work on these topics under the brand of GLOBSEC and help to build a strong expertise and programme, which reputation has extended beyond Central Europe. However, there is still a long way to go to face these problems effectively. The Democracy & Resilience Centre annually publish a unique publication, the GLOBSEC Trends, summarizing the results of public perception in the CEE on a variety of issues such as democracy, rule of law, foreign influence, but recently also attitudes towards vaccination or conspiracies about COVID-19. One of the key projects is the GLOBSEC Vulnerability Index, measuring the vulnerability of the CEE countries towards foreign influence. The GLOBSEC Vulnerability Index will be published in November 2021.
