Petr Kolář
Ambassador (ret), Advisor to President Petr Pavel, Senior Advisor at Squire Patton Boggs Prague
Petr Kolář is a Czech formal diplomat and public figure. Mr. Kolář graduated from Charles University in Prague in 1986 with PhDr in information technology, library science and ethnography. As postgraduate he focused on contemporary history and international relations. His interests are foreign and security policy, sport, literature, history, fine arts and his grandchildren.
Petr Kolář served as Ambassador to Russia, United States, Ireland and Sweden. He has also held numerous positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2003 to 2005, he was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations. In 1999, Petr Kolář also worked as an advisor for European integration and the Balkans to President Václav Havel. In 2013 he served as Director of Foreign Affairs for the PPF Group, where he primarily focused on Asia. Petr Kolář is also from 2021 engaged as the external adviser for foreign policy and international relations to the Chairman of the Senate and from March 2023 also to the President of the Czech Republic. He is currently a senior advisor to the law firm of Squire Patton Boggs in Prague.
